Poori

Simple and savory, poori make a nice accompaniment to chutney or curries.
  • 500 g Whole Wheat Flour
  • (pinch) Salt
  • 15 ml Ghee
  • 250 ml (approx) Water
1)  Mix the flour, salt, and ghee in a large bowl with enough water to make a pliable dough.  Knead gently and cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes. 
2)  Divide into 20 equal portions, make balls, dust with flour, and  roll out into 1/16" thick rounds
3)  Fry in 350F oil for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden.  It will puff up.  Be sure to flip to get even colouring.  Remove onto paper towels.
